For many of us, life has phases that shape who we become—moments of uncertainty, self-discovery, and growth. For me, this transformation became real in 2023, when I transitioned from simply existing to truly living. This journey of change is encapsulated in my song “Living Life,” a reflection of this pivotal phase in my life.

A Sudden Spark: The Birth of “Living Life”
The concept for “Living Life” came to me unexpectedly. I hadn’t planned on creating a song that day. But as I stepped into the studio and listened to the beat my producer, Sudden, was crafting, something clicked. Out of nowhere, the line “I feel right as rain, bright as day, I’m glad to say” popped into my head. It was a realization that I had entered a new chapter of my life—one that I now call the “Living Life” phase. This phase is different because it marks a time when I’ve stopped merely existing and started truly living
Before April 2023, I was in a dark place. Despite being alive and working on various creative projects, depression had silently been creeping in, leaving me feeling hollow. I was functioning, but I wasn’t living. It wasn’t until I began to see life through a different lens—one of gratitude, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose—that things changed. Thanks to God, who is Love, I was able to step out of that fog and embrace a new way of being.

From Music to Art: A Lifetime of Creative Exploration
Music has always been my first love. My creative journey began in 2009, when I was in SS2, writing music as a way to express the ideas floating in my mind. But that was only the start. As I grew older, my creative ambitions expanded, and I found myself exploring different forms of art.
In my freshman year of university, I began sketching clothing designs. Later, in 2013-2014, I dabbled in photography—a passion I had to pause for reasons still unclear to me. However, my love for visual creativity never left. On a trip to Topa, Benin Republic in 2017, I discovered diecast cars, and that moment ignited my passion for collecting them. By 2018, I was introduced to customizing denim, thanks to a dear friend, Bolaji (RIP). Over the years, I customized more than 50 pieces of denim and started experimenting with mixed media art, combining different textures and materials like strawboards and aluminum frames.
In 2022, my creative journey took yet another turn when I began learning Adobe Illustrator. It was necessary for my remote job at the time, but it quickly became a tool for bringing my clothing design ideas to life. Today, I continue to use Illustrator, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come with it.
One common theme in my life has been this feeling of being a “confused creative”—someone constantly searching for the next form of expression, unsure of where to fully land but always open to trying new things. Despite this confusion, I’ve learned that being in transit is part of the creative process. I now aspire to become an Art Director, a role that will allow me to combine my various passions into something cohesive.
From my teenage years, I’ve been willing to explore and adapt, always open to learning from any situation or person. It’s this mindset that has fueled my desire to keep pushing boundaries and evolving creatively.
The Power of Music as an Outlet

While I’ve explored many creative fields, music remains the most powerful outlet for me. It’s how I express my thoughts and communicate messages that need to be heard. Before “Living Life,” I hadn’t made music in a long while, but when BPanda contacted me to collaborate on this song, it felt like the perfect opportunity to share my story. The song serves as a testament to the phase I’m in now—a phase of living fully, embracing life, and using my creativity to inspire others.
The Importance of Transitioning from Existence to Living
Through my personal and creative journey, I’ve learned that many people go through life in “existence mode”—doing what’s necessary to get by without truly enjoying or engaging with the world around them. For me, “Living Life” is more than just a song; it’s a message to others who might be stuck in that same place. It’s a reminder that we all have the capacity to transition from merely existing to truly living.
My message to you is simple: don’t be afraid to embrace change, even if it’s uncomfortable. Sometimes, the most significant growth happens when you’re confused, uncertain, and searching for answers. It’s okay to be in transit, and it’s okay to explore different creative paths. What’s important is that you keep moving forward and never lose sight of the fact that life is meant to be lived.
